Knitters and crocheters, whether advanced, beginner, or just wanna-be, are invited to join Purls of Wisdom as we make scarves and caps for the Seamen's Church Institute Christmas-at-Sea program, and caps and blankets for the Evanston Hospital preemie department. We have yarn available for you to use, or you can use your own. Patterns for the Christmas-at-Sea program are available online, as are a variety of patterns appropriate for preemie caps and blankets. If you can't join us for our monthly knit-along on the last Tuesday of the month at 7:30pm, you can still participate by knitting or crocheting items and bringing them to the church to distribute. We are also happy to accept donations of yarn (preferably machine-washable) for others to use. If you would like to participate but don't know how to either knit or crochet, come to one of our monthly meetings and learn! We have accomplished knitters and crocheters who will be happy to teach you either craft.
